Founder Story
Halina André was built on the vision of Halina and Andrzej Prądyński, a husband-and-wife team whose partnership bridged European skincare artistry and scientific innovation.
When Halina arrived in Austin from Vienna in 1969, professional skincare simply didn’t exist in Texas. Trained in medicine and advanced esthetics in Warsaw and Paris, she saw an opportunity to bring European skincare philosophy - one rooted in anatomy, physiology, and individualized care - to a place where facials were still considered a luxury, not a science.
By 1970, she opened Texas’s first European skincare salon, Halina European Skin Care, where every treatment was customized through thorough skin analysis and client education - long before “personalized skincare” became a trend. Her results spoke for themselves; within just three years, she doubled her business annually and was treating clients from across the state, including public figures and industry leaders.
Recognizing the lack of professional-grade products that met her standards, Halina turned to her husband, Andrzej, a chemist and biochemist, to create formulations that matched her methods. Together, they developed the Halina-André line - performance-driven, botanically enriched formulations that combined European ingredients, scientific precision, and visible results. What began as products for in-salon use quickly gained cult-like demand from clients eager to take them home.
Their collaboration defined a new era of American skincare: one that merged European esthetic tradition with clinical-grade formulation, establishing Halina André as one of the first true professional skincare brands in the United States.
